What happens in the event of an accident?

If the accident involves an identified third-party (i.e.: the person you had an accident with is still present):

Call our insurance partner as soon as you can to let them know: 0330 102 1998.

  • You must fill out an accident report, which determines each driver's responsibility and involvement in the accident. You'll find the accident report form in the glovebox of the car:

    • In the "insured" box, write down the driver's name and the time of the accident
    • In section 8 of the accident report, write down Drivy's insurance policy number (and not the owner's): BV/27657645.
    • Fill out the rest of the form including details of the accident
    • Sign the accident report and keep a copy
  • Take photos of the damage to your car and the third-party's car.

  • Call the owner to inform them. You'll complete Drivy's damage report together at the end of the rental.

  • If the car can no longer be driven, contact Drivy's roadside assistance (see the instructions on the Assistance page. The AA will organise for the vehicle to be towed, as well as further transport for the passengers.

If the accident doesn't involve an identified third-party (i.e.: you damaged the car yourself or it was damaged, but you can't identify who is responsible):

  • Take photos of the damages.

The owner will then fill the damage report on Drivy's website. We might get back to you to request a statement about the circumstances of the accident if necessary.

If you're not responsible for the accident, you won't have to pay anything.

If you are responsible, there will be an excess to pay, and additional management fees may be applied.
